passenger-compares-vistara-meal-to-inedible-hostel-food

The aviation sector has undergone a tremendous transformation since its establishment, going from modest beginnings to a booming enterprise. And being Indian, every flight has always been a special affair. The development of airplanes has been essential to crossing the country’s wide and varied terrain.

Following industry liberalization in the 1990s, the sector has experienced extraordinary development, as evidenced by the arrival of multiple local and foreign operators. It greatly improved the connection and accessibility for millions of passengers. Not only this, but many Indians took pride in taking flights.

The reason is that traveling by flight sounds like such a posh and opulent activity. However, this growth trajectory has not been devoid of challenges. Persistent issues plague the airline industry, impacting both operators and passengers alike. Despite the industry’s growth, India’s aviation sector grapples with ongoing obstacles, notably concerning infrastructure.

Issues including overcrowding at airports, outdated machinery, and restricted airspace lead to operational inefficiencies and frequent delays for planes. Additionally, on airplanes, incidents involving rude employees or subpar service are not unusual.

Particularly, the poor quality and presentation of in-flight food have frequently drawn criticism. Similarly, a customer on a Vistara aircraft expressed unhappiness with the in-flight meal service recently and called it “inedible.” The matter soon went viral on social media, with netizens responding with a mix of sympathy and criticism.

Passengers compare in-flight food with ‘inedible’ hostel food

An X user named Kripal Amanna has recently gained a lot of attention after he trashed Vistara’s food catering services in his post. In his X post, Kripal shared photos of in-flight food along with the caption, saying,

“Wow! @airvistara your main meal aboard UK820 this evening evoked a sense of nostalgia! That of near inedible meals served in a badly run hostel mess by indifferent cooks! Insipid flavours, the sort of texture that would indicate the chicken should have ideally been consumed hours ago, and the chocolate dessert, benchmarked perhaps to a kindergarten cookery project. Amazing!”

Vistara responds to allegations of ‘inedible’ food

Upon seeing the increase in debate around Kripal’s post, the Vistara company responded to the allegations. Replying to Kripal, Vistara wrote,

“Hi Kripal, all our meals are prepared keeping the highest standards of quality in mind, and we are disheartened to note your disappointment.”

To investigate the situation and find a quick solution, they also asked the passenger to directly message them with his flight details, phone number, and a convenient time to reach them.

However, this is not first of this kind of incident. In past, many other passenger took to social media to complain about the food quality of flights. It tell us how huge this problem and is not limited only one company.
