Recently, Mukesh Khanna criticized Sonakshi Sinha and also took a dig at her father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha. Joining the fray, poet Vishwas Kumar made veiled remarks against Shatrughan and Sonakshi, adding fuel to the controversy. However, the focus soon shifted when photos of Vishwas Kumar’s daughter wearing western outfits went viral, sparking heated debate.
Kumar Vishwas sparks controversy after taking unnecessary dig at Shatrughan and Sonakshi Sinha
At a recent poetry event in Meerut, Kumar Vishwas sparked controversy with his veiled comments aimed at veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha and his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha. While he did not take names, it was pretty clear at whom he was directing his words.

In the event, Vishwas remarked,
“Teach your children about the Ramayana. Otherwise, while your house may be named ‘Ramayana,’ someone else might take away your household’s ‘Lakshmi.’”
The comment was seen as a direct jibe at Sonakshi, who has previously been trolled for her lack of knowledge about Indian epics, and her father, Shatrughan by Mukesh Khanna a.k.a Shaktimaan.
Kumar Vishwas’ remarks went a step further by targeting Shatrughan Sinha’s Mumbai home, which is named “Ramayana.” His comments indirectly alluded to Sonakshi Sinha’s interfaith marriage to Zaheer Iqbal, adding a controversial layer to his statements. This drew immediate criticism, with many accusing Vishwas of making personal and insensitive remarks that crossed the line.
Vishwas’ statement without much time became a talking point, with many accusing him of taking an unnecessary dig at the Sinha family. The controversy escalated when photos of Kumar Vishwas’ own daughters, dressed in western outfits, started circulating online. This led to a heated debate on social media that has caught everyone’s attention.

Photos of Kumar Vishwas’ daughters began circulating after his controversial remarks
Soon after Kumar Vishwas made veiled comments targeting Shatrughan Sinha and his daughter Sonakshi at a poetry event in Meerut, his own family became the subject of public scrutiny.
Vishwas’ remarks urging people to teach their children about the Ramayana and indirectly linking it to household values led to backlash, with many labeling his statements as unnecessary and provocative. However, the situation took an ironic turn when photos of his daughters, Agrata Sharmma and Kuhu, began circulating online, sparking debates about his stance on traditional values.
The photos in question were reportedly from an Instagram post shared by Vishwas’ elder daughter, Agrata, on December 23, 2024. The pictures captured moments from their parents’ wedding anniversary celebration, where Agrata and Kuhu were seen wearing glamorous outfits.
Both donned in mini slit dresses with deep necklines. The striking contrast between Vishwas’ public statements and his daughters’ modern attires led to a storm on social media.

Critics accused Vishwas of hypocrisy, questioning how he could preach traditional values while his own family embraced contemporary lifestyles.
Talking about the educational qualification of his daughters, reports reveal that Agrata has studied at Warwick Business School in the UK, while Kuhu pursued BSc Psychology at King’s College London, further emphasizing their global upbringing and progressive choices.
Congress leader Supriya Shrinate Slams Kumar Vishwas for His Remarks on Women
Congress leader Supriya Shrinate strongly criticized Kumar Vishwas for his remarks, calling them “cheap and lewd.” She took to Twitter to condemn his statement. Furthermore, she also questioned the deeply regressive mindset behind it.
Shrinate wrote a big tweet, gist of which highlighted,
“Is a girl some kind of thing that someone can take away somewhere? Till when will people like you keep considering a woman as the property of her father first and then of her husband?”
“Neither Shatrughan Sinha ji nor his successful daughter Sonakshi needs your certificate, but your comment on a girl 17 years younger than you definitely exposes your narrow thinking.”
“If you had really studied the Ramayana, you would have definitely understood love. You have a great desire to become a Ram Katha narrator but you do not have even an iota of the decency and dignity of Lord Rama.”

Her sharp rebuttal resonated with many and highlighted the persistent objectification of women that still continues to happen in such modern times.
Both Sonakshi Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha have maintained their silence over Vishwas Kumar’s statement
Sonakshi Sinha and her father, Shatrughan Sinha, have largely stayed silent following Vishwas Kumar’s remark. However, Sonakshi did give a reply to the critical comments made previously by Mukesh Khanna.
The controversy first began after Sonakshi appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), where she was unable to answer a question related to the Ramayana. Mukesh Khanna criticized her for not being knowledgeable about Indian epics, indirectly questioning her upbringing.
Sonakshi Sinha responded to Mukesh Khanna’s criticism through her Instagram stories, where she addressed his distasteful remarks. She clarified that while she may have momentarily forgotten the answer to a question about the Ramayana on Kaun Banega Crorepati, it was simply a human mistake.

Not just this, Sonakshi also emphasized that her father’s values and teachings had shaped her into the person she is, and she doesn’t need validation from anyone. She also pointed out that two other women on the same show had the same difficulty with the answer, but Khanna chose to single her out. Sonakshi concluded by calling for people to let go of such petty criticisms and practice forgiveness, referencing Lord Ram’s teachings on the matter.
