“Isn’t it the most rightful thing to stand with the women and for the women?”
They further added that they were using “a language being understood best” to condemn the breach of women’s dignity.
Ma’am, with due respect to your interpretation, isn’t it the most rightful thing to stand with the women and for the women? We condemn their dignity being breached even in words and are willing to put the word across in a language being understood best. Safeguarding women &…

However, the clarification triggered fresh criticism instead of closing the debate. Responding sharply, Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote,
“Please don’t use pathetic misogynistic episodes to make your content viral, not every incident is meme content.”
Further adding that if the police wanted to support women, they should “do it on the streets of Mumbai rather than looking to go viral on X.”
With due respect to you as well, please don’t use pathetic misogynistic episodes to make your content viral, not every incident is meme content. You want to do better for women? Then do it on the streets of Mumbai rather than looking to go viral on X

Never ever take a woman’s cover to justify your distasteful comments masquerading as humour. And please stop patronizing people’s intelligence. Everyone is smart enough to understand provided if you are ‘capable’ to explain something well.

Context – Cheap vulgar mysogynist conversation in the name of comedy, not article 370 😂

The @MumbaiPolice is extremely deaf and dumb on social media. They don’t respond on any issues. Respected @mieknathshinde reacted on videos but Mumbai police never. Very mediocre.

What sparked the ‘₹370 biryani’ controversy?
The controversy began during a crowd interaction segment at comedian Pranit More’s show, where audience member Himanshu Jangra narrated an incident from a date. Jangra said that after spending ₹370 on a plate of chicken biryani, he felt he should get something in return and remarked,
“Maine kaha 370 rupay lage hain, main wasool toh karunga.”
He then claimed he expected the woman to accompany him and later persuaded her to go with him to a dark park despite her hesitation.
The clip quickly went viral and drew criticism online, with many accusing it of normalising coercive behaviour and questioning why the remarks were not challenged during the show. As the backlash intensified, Jangra apologised and deleted his social media accounts, while Pranit More admitted he should have responded differently, calling his reaction “a lapse in judgment” and later deactivating his Instagram account as well.
