The G20 Summit marked its commencement on 9th September in Delhi. To say that such a big event taking place under India’s leadership was a proud moment for all of us would be a sheer understatement. The two-day Summit finally concluded in the most successful manner ever. Every World leader did not hesitate to praise the leadership qualities that PM Narendra Modi possesses and how hard he has worked to champion the voice of the Global South. 1. Rishi Sunak – PM of the United Kingdom
Rishi Sunak who became the PM of the United Kingdom on 25 October 2022 was one among the many renowned leaders who joined the G20 Summit. By looking at the grand success of the event, held in India, he praised PM Modi saying,

2. Fumio Kishida – PM of Japan
In the course of the summit, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed admiration for Prime Minister Modi’s “exceptional leadership” within the G20 forum.

3. Joe Biden – PM of the United States
US President Joe Biden recognized Prime Minister Modi’s pivotal role in uniting nations of the Global South, by remarking,

4. Sergey Lavrov – the Foreign Affairs Minister of Russia
At the 18th G20 Summit, Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, commended PM Modi’s leadership by stating,
“India’s presidency consolidated the Global South.”
He also advocated for bolstering G20 collaboration on,
“the foundation created by the Indian presidency.”
5. Recep Tayyip Erdogan – President of Turkey
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his warm hospitality and expressed his hope that the summit would bring blessings for,
“the only world we have”
6. Justin Trudeau – PM of Canada
During the Summit, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau underscored the importance of our accomplishments, emphasizing,

7. Sheikh Hasina – PM of Bangladesh
Commending the G20’s theme of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ she highlighted its dedication and the significance of collective efforts towards a brighter future. Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for extending the invitation to the summit and for his role in,

8. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva – President of Brazil
Brazil’s President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, conveyed his appreciation with the words,
“Thank you, PM, for your skillful leadership of the G20.”
9. Kristalina Georgieva – Managing Director of IMF
Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, commended Prime Minister Modi for his astute decisions. She said,
“Let me congratulate you (Modi) on your wisdom to bring African Union to this table.”
10. Azali Assoumani – Chairperson of the African Union
Azali Assoumani, President of the Union of Comoros and Chairperson of the African Union, expressed gratitude to India for its backing of their candidacy.
The G20, or Group of Twenty, is an intergovernmental forum comprising 19 countries that account for about 85% of global GDP and 75% of international trade. The aim of the G20 2023 motive was to focus on themes like sustainable development, climate change mitigation, and multilateralism amongst other things.
