Zomato sends the wrong order to Hyderabad student
Recently, Zomato sent Ananya, a Hyderabadi student, the incorrect meal order. While this seems to be another food delivery mishap, what really added peculiarity to the scenario was Zomato’s reaction. It all began when Ananya used the Zomato app to order chicken manchuria and ended up getting chicken 65 instead.
Angry at the confusion, she contacted Zomato’s customer support, which has gotten increasingly difficult to deal with since Zia, the AI chatbot, was introduced. Even though she was able to get in touch with Syeda, the representative, her problem remained unresolved. What most enraged her was Syeda’s reply after a five-minute pause. Syeda’s reply said:
We request you to please have it… we are sure you will love it.

How did Zomato react to the incident?
Reacting to the above-mentioned post, Zomato apologized for their mistake and ask for more details. In their reply, Zomato wrote,
Hi Ananya, we’re truly sorry for the trouble you have faced. This is not the kind of experience we ever wanted for you. Shoot us a DM with your registered phone number/ order ID, and we’ll get things sorted at the earliest.
