The actress was once again targeted for one of her personal life choices, which is her wardrobe. She was criticized for wearing conservative clothes after her marriage. She said that she is amused at how her clothing choices became a “national cyber debate.”

In the picture, Swara was dressed in a simple salwar-kurta set with her head covered with the dupatta. With Maulana in the middle, She and Fahad were standing on either side.
The picture that grabbed significant attention was where her recent conservative picture was juxtaposed with a glam shot of Swara from her acting days, along with the caption before-after. It implied that the actor had turned ‘conservative’ after her marriage to the Muslim politician.
Swara’s post went viral quickly, with people discussing how she used to dress much differently before her marriage. People started pointing out that Swara’s lifestyle had changed drastically after her marriage to Fahad Ahmad. Besides, Maulana Sajjad Nomani was previously criticized for his controversial remark on female clothing.
Swara shut the trolls with a witty response
Her latest tongue-in-cheek remark was targeted at the trolls. Swara shared a meme about herself on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). It has a picture of her and her husband Fahad with Maulana Sajjad Nomani. She sarcastically wrote that she was not aware that her wardrobe choices could add to the topic of a national cyber debate. Along with the pictures that attracted trolls, she posted other pictures of herself post-marriage. In those pictures, the actor can be seen wearing Western outfits like dresses and an off-shoulder gown.

Swara bit back at trollers by sharing these images for unnecessarily targeting her husband and his religion. She pointed out that just because she married a Muslim he hasn’t ever forced her or expected her to dress a certain way.
The actress married Fahad Ahmad, a National Congress Party (NCP) leader and a student activist in 2023. They welcomed a baby girl, Rabiya, in September 2023. Fahad had worked as a member of the Samajwadi Party before he joined the NCP. He fought the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024 from the Anushakto Nagar constituency in south-central.
