However, in the last few years, the show has been embroiled in several controversies, mostly related to its casting. Many of the original cast left owing to various reasons, however, one exit that made the most noise is the original Taarak Mehta Shailesh Lodha’s exit from the show.

Speaking at the event, Shailesh was recently questioned why he left the comedy despite being a much-loved member of it. In his reply, he opened up about the real reason behind his exit.
Answering the question, he said,
In this country, publishers wear a diamond ring and a writer, who wants to get his book published, has to shell out money. If people, who earn from the talent of other people, start considering themselves over and above the talented people, then a talented person should raise their voices. Maybe I am one of those talented people who has raised his voice.
He added,
Those who earn popularity due to the work of an artist cannot be bigger than the artist. Any publisher in the world cannot be bigger than the writer. Any producer cannot be bigger than the actor. He is a businessman. If any businessman tries to overpower the actor or poet in me, I will strongly condemn it.
What Shailesh Lodha’s words are indicating?
Shailesh Lodha reportedly departed the program owing to disagreements with producer Asit Modi last year, according to sources. The actor, though, never brought it up in conversation. On Instagram, he did publish a few postings indicating his conflict with the producers.
Nevertheless, his recent comments clear the air on what he was trying to indicate in the few past months.
After Shailesh Lodha’s exit, actor Sachin Shroff has taken Shailesh’s position on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Apart from Lodha, even Raj Anadkat, portraying Tappu, son of Jethalal, also made a public announcement of his departure in December of last year. In his place, producers have introduced Nitish Bhaluni as the new Tappu.
