Before Marriage, Samantha Shared Details About Naga Chaitanya’s Girlfriend With Father In Law Nagarjuna

On August 8, 2024, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala announced their engagement. This news followed years of rumors about their romance, which started shortly after Chaitanya’s divorce from Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Once upon a time, Chaitanya and Samantha’s love journey was considered a fairytale, and many were enthralled with their ideal wedding. However, their heavenly wedding life shattered and they got divorced eventually.

While the couple got separated, Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna, recently disclosed that he and Samantha still have a familial tie. It’s interesting to note that Samantha previously said in an interview that she and Nagarjuna used to talk about Chaitanya’s girlfriend.

During the making of Manam (2014), which featured Naga Chaitanya, Samantha, and Nagarjuna, Samantha was questioned if Nagarjuna, the father of Chaitanya, was aware of her connection with Chaitanya. The question was posed to her during an interview on MX Player’s show, Famously Filmfare. When questioned if she was the reason behind Chaitanya’s breakup with his girlfriend, Samantha responded,

They did that to themselves. I wasn’t even required to step in.

After that, the topic of conversation turned to a story claiming Nagarjuna knew about the relationship rumors involving Chaitanya and her. In response, Samantha stated that she had in fact previously discussed Chaitanya’s girlfriend with Nagarjuna. She admitted,

No no. Back then, we would discuss Chay’s girlfriend at that point in time. I would give him (Nagarjuna) full information.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared that she had become dependent on Naga Chaitanya

In the same interview, Samantha opened out completely about how she first met Naga Chaitanya while working on Ye Maaya Chesave (2010), the actress’s first leading role. Speaking of her time spent working with Chaitanya, Samantha continued that he fell for him on the sets, so they decided to get married. Samantha went on to say that Chaitanya was aware of her feelings for him and her crush on him.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed that she had grown reliant on Chaitanya. She continued by saying that although she had liked the actor in the past, he wasn’t in the same position, and it took him eight years to come into her life. Samantha said the following:

He knew I liked him. I became very dependant on him. So, it took eight years to come on the same space because I really liked him and he was not in that space. There were times when we wanted to work it out, but there were many factors. It took a long time for us to be in the same space.

Samantha was questioned about her wedding with Naga Chaitanya

As the discussion went on, Samantha was questioned concerning her private wedding with Naga Chaitanya. The actress responded by stating that just 120 guests were invited to their wedding and that she wanted it to be intimate so that she could cherish every second of the happy occasion.

In response to a question concerning who made the first move, Samantha said that Chaitanya did so in December 2016. Soon, they became engaged in January 2017. When asked if she answered right away, she responded yes. Samantha responded by saying that she did, of course, since he was the man she had always dreamed of. She went on to say that Chaitanya is the ideal man for any girl and that he is flawless.
