Shark Tank India has established itself as a one-of-a-kind entrepreneurial reality programme on television, with viewers eagerly anticipating the second season.

The programme is an Indian adaptation of the popular American reality show Shark Tank. It depicts entrepreneurs giving pitches to a panel of investors or sharks who determine whether or not to invest in their enterprise. Shark Tank India‘s first season debuted on December 20, 2021, and ended on February 4, 2022.

The show involves a panel of “Sharks,” or possible investors, who listen to entrepreneurs propose ideas for new businesses or products. These self-made multi-millionaires assess the business plans and items presented before deciding whether or not to spend their own money in marketing and mentoring each participant. Rannvijay Singha is the show’s host.

Apart from highlighting the country’s economic prowess, the show’s sharks’ bonding over their investments in these start-ups has also been a hot topic.

SonyLIV is poised to webcast a special episode with the Sharks as the popularity of Shark Tank India continues to grow. The programme was titled Getting Candid with the Sharks and was presented by comedian Abish Mathew. He not only interrogates the corporate executives but also gets them to share some amusing personal information about one another.

Following the conclusion of the inaugural season of Shark Tank India, the show’s five sharks including Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, Anupam Mittal, and Aman Gupta got down to discuss their camaraderie and experience assessing young talent on the programme as India’s famed start-up founders who have achieved enormous success.

Namita Thapar was asked to respond to the now-viral ‘expertise’ meme carnival on social media during her interview with stand-up comedian Abish Mathew

Namita was upbeat about her frequent ‘not my expertise’ statement becoming a running gag on the show, which she used to excuse herself from making deals. When Abish inquired if she still wanted this joke to persist, Namita said,

“It has happened a lot of times and why not? Bring it on dude! Agar expertise nahi hain, wahan nahi hain.”

Abish also questioned Namita about her role as a shark moderator, to which she said that if she didn’t, the show’s shoot duration would likely increase from 14 to 20 hours per day.

The Lenskart founder said,

“You know women are more organized than men right. She keep us all you know. Time pe ana hai, agar 10 minutes late ho jaye to mujhe Sony ka darr nahi hai, mujhe Namita ka darr hai.”

Aman Gupta added that once Peyush was running late, so he contacted him and asked to accompany, fearful that Namita would take a note since he was late. As he was late, Namita admits to posting a stinker on the Sharks WhatsApp group.

Shark Anupam Mittal described Namita as an “annoying maa” who made her cover her face.

He noted that while everyone adores their mother, she may be unpleasant at times like Namita did. She responded by stating, “I knew this coming.”
