‘Date With a Superstar’ host, Sahiba Bali recently made headlines for her remarks while interviewing Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins during the inaugural episode of her show. During the episode, the beautiful anchor cheekily quoted the massive fan following Cummins enjoys in India, especially among women.
Sahiba’s confession
In the episode, she also added a personal touch by sharing her own admiration for the cricketer in the interview. Sahiba said,
“There’s a huge fan following of yours in India, particularly among women”
She added that not only her but her best friend also has a crush on him, she also asked Cummins how he handles such female attention despite being married. She said,
“There’s this huge, huge sect of women who absolutely have crushes on you; me included, my best friend included. She messaged me saying, ‘Oh, you’re meeting Pat Cummins. I’m so jealous of you.’ Obviously, everyone knows that you’re married, but how do you cater to female attention?”
Her question made the Australian skipper, go off guard. But he maintained his composure, and laughed it out saying,
“I don’t even know where to begin with that one. I don’t know, just do my thing.”
Pat Cummins’ response to female attention
As the conversation progressed, the actress asked if Cummins acknowledges or chooses to ignore the love and admiration he receives from fans, especially women.
Cummins replied,
“Not really”
“I mean, it’s funny. In India, you obviously see the fans and the crowds and stuff…”
Sahiba interjected by saying,

“And they’re crazy.”
Cummins approved by adding,
“And they are crazy,”
He added,
“But, I mean, we spend most of the time as a team, at the hotel, or with family. So, sometimes you don’t get too much of the one-on-one kind of interaction.”

Cummins married life
Cummins wedded his longtime partner Becky Boston on August 1, 2022. The couple shares a son, adding a family-oriented balance to the fast-paced life of an international cricketer. Cummins’ response reflected his humble personality and focus on family and cricket despite his global fame and the attention he get.

Cummins is set to return to India for the IPL 2025 season as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). His leadership in the league is supposed to be closely watched because he continues to balance his role as Australia’s Test and ODI captain with franchise cricket commitments.
