In the latest incident, a Bengaluru man received a live worm in one of the meal boxes he ordered

A Bengaluru man ordered from a well-known cloud kitchen, FreshMenu, promoting healthy meals, on food delivery platforms. To his utter shock, in one of the meal boxes, he found a live worm.

He shared the video on Instagram, where he can be seen pointing to the worm crawling inside a salad bowl. This incident has sparked concerns about food safety and the need for more stringent hygiene standards.

In the viral video, the customer showcases the three boxes he ordered from FreshMenu, which he placed via Zomato. In one of the boxes, a live worm can be seen wriggling inside. He refrains from opening the other boxes and shares that he has requested Zomato to look into the matter. He also highlights an issue on the receipt, which lists four items despite his ordering only three.

He took to Instagram and posted the video writing,

“#fitness #healthyfood #fssaiindia #zomato #food #homefood #gym. After a long time, I decided to have something from outside, and this happened. Please, guys, try to avoid outside food, and if you have no other option, then please check the food properly before eating.”

He tagged the location as Bengaluru, Karnataka while sharing the video.

After the video went viral, FreshMenu issued an apology

The restaurant took complete responsibility for the incident, stating that their team had visited the customer as soon as they became aware of the issue and had taken disciplinary action against the staff involved. The restaurant wrote,

While we have always taken the utmost care to ensure these are thoroughly checked during the preparation process, a manual error occurred in this instance, leading to this regrettable incident”

FreshMenu added,

“To address this matter, our team acted immediately upon learning of the incident. Our representatives visited you in person to understand your concerns and offer our apologies directly. Furthermore, we have identified the lapse in our processes and have taken strict disciplinary action against the team responsible to prevent such incidents from happening again”
