Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq has been trending on all social media platforms, however, for all the wrong reasons. Naveen, alongwith Gautam Gambhir had a heated argument with former RCB captain Virat Kohli.
Naveen-ul-Haq laid the foundation of spat between Kohli and Gambhir
Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, the two Indian cricketing stalwarts had a heated exchange of words after the low-scoring thriller between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants came to an end. The argument was over certain incidents that took place during the final phase of the game. However, the foundation of the ugly spat between between these two cricketers was laid a few overs earlier by Naveen.

The triggering point of the spat took place during the break between the 16th and 17th over, when Kohli had an altercation with Naveen. The argument was turning so serious that it prompted LSG’s Amit Mishra to try and mediate between the two cricketers but he also ended up having an argument with Kohli.
After the game, Naveen said a few words to Virat during the awkward handshake. A few moments later, Gautam Gambhir was seen entering the scene. After this, it was tough to stop Gambhir and Kohli.
This is not the first time that Naveen was involved in a fight
However, this isn’t the first time that Naveen has been involved in a fight in his short career. It was back in 2020, during the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) when Naveen was involved in a controversy.

“My advice to the young player was simple, play the game and don’t indulge in abusive talk. I have friends in the Afghanistan team and we have very cordial relations. Respect for teammates and opponents are the basic spirit of the game.”
