Since its founding, the aviation industry has undergone a remarkable transformation, growing from its modest origins into a thriving sector. In the case of India, the development of airplanes has been essential to bridging the nation’s enormous and varied terrain.
The sector’s substantial growth is evident with the entry of numerous domestic and international players. It has provided enhanced connectivity and accessibility to millions of passengers since the industry’s deregulation in the 1990s. However, the journey has not been without difficulties. The airline industry struggles with enduring problems that affect operators and passengers alike.

Despite the industry’s expansion, India’s aviation sector faces ongoing hurdles, with infrastructure emerging as a primary concern. Airport congestion, outdated equipment, and restricted airspace all lead to operational inefficiencies and aircraft delays.
Additionally, reports of misconduct by both passengers and airline staff further add to the challenges. It is noteworthy that not just the average public, but also celebrities and other well-known people have voiced their complaints about airline services in public.
Yavanika Raj Shah, a passenger, recently experienced a peculiar situation on an IndiGo trip from Bengaluru to Bhopal. She found that her assigned seats had no cushions. Without wasting the opportunity, she posted about the incident on social media. Soon, her post went viral and became the talk of the town.

Ma’am, thank you for speaking with us. The seat cushions were replaced prior to the flight for cleaning purposes. Our cabin crew promptly informed the customers who were allotted these seats. This is a standard practice for cleaning during transit as and when required. (1/2)
