Things often get out of hand during college cultural festivals, but it raises eyebrows when it involves an assistant professor. An incident came to light when a student from ABES College of Engineering in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh was condemned by an assistant professor during a college cultural festival and student induction program on the 20th of October. All of it started when the student greeted the audience with a courteous “Jai Shri Ram.”

The incident seems to have occurred during a college cultural fest named ‘Navtarang 2023-24’. The program was organized to welcome the BTech first-year students at the ABES College of Engineering, Ghaziabad.

The video of the incident went viral where a professor, identified as Mamata Gautam, yelled at the student

The video clearly shows several students greeting the individual with “Jai Shri Ram,” to which the student on stage responded with the same. After he greeted the audience with “Jai Shri Ram,” the entire college cheered ‘Jai Shri Ram’. This did not sit well with Mamata Gautam who got up from her seat and asked the student to get off the stage.

Social media users identified the professor as Gautam, who was caught in action scolding the student. The professor can be heard shouting,

“Why did you raise the slogan of Jai Shri Ram? Do you come to the college for this? This is a cultural program. This cannot be allowed. Out. Get Out”

Meanwhile, the student on stage said that he was just showing courtesy and answering the ‘Jai Shri Ram’ screams from the audience.

Meanwhile, the Ghaziabad Police took over the matter after the video went viral and started a preliminary investigation into the incident
