The capability will remove the requirement for two phones while using the messaging app. In the upcoming days, this capability will be gradually made available to Android users. This announcement was formally made by Meta and has left users ecstatic about it.
Users of dual-SIM phones, which are popular in countries like India, may find this capability to be very helpful. WhatsApp clearly states that to enable multiple accounts, a different phone with an active SIM card is needed for the second number. However, premium Android device owners who have phones that enable eSIM may simply activate their second number on the same handset. It doesn’t require them to carry two phones.

In its official statement, WhatsApp explained:
“We’re introducing the ability to have two WhatsApp accounts logged in at the same time. Helpful for switching between accounts – such as your work and personal – now you no longer need to log out each time, carry two phones or worry about messaging from the wrong place.”
How to activate dual phone numbers on WhatsApp?
If you want to know how to enable WhatsApp’s dual phone number capability on a single device, then follow simple instructions which were given below:
Step 1: On your Android phone, open WhatsApp.
Step 2: Using the three-dot menu icon, select “Settings.”
Step 3: Find the drop-down arrow next to the name of your profile.

Step 4: Your current WhatsApp account can be expanded with a new mobile number.
You can use the second number within the same WhatsApp account once you complete the steps to authenticate the new number.

WhatsApp hasn’t disclosed specific details about the Android app version that will support this feature. But for the past two weeks, it has been tested in WhatsApp beta version 2.23.21.12. It’s hoped that the public release will include this same version, providing consumers with a smooth experience.
