13 Bollywood Couples Who Met On The Sets And Fell In Love

While there have been multiple patch-ups and break-ups in the history of Bollywood, some actually fell in love while shooting the movie.

1. Kajol and Ajay Devgan

Meeting on the sets of Hulchul (1995), Kajol was on the right steps of being in love, but Ajay stated in an interview that he “Disliked Kajol and wasn’t even keen to meet her anymore!.” But Before they tied the knot in 1999, Kajol admitted that her father didn’t speak to her for months. The pair now is quite happy now, their latest movie together is Tanhaji, The Unsung Hero. Kajol and Ajay has one son, Yug Devgan and one daughter, Nyasa Devagan.

2. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan

They formally saw each other at the Pune Film Institute in 1970 and nothing really happened. It was during the shoot of Guddi that Amitabh and Jaya came close to each other, a film by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Their bond of love got stronger while they were on the sets of Ek Nazar. On June 3rd 1973 Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan got married. Some famous movies of Amitabh and Jaya are Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…, Silsila, Chupke Chupke and Abhimaan.

3. Genelia D’Souza and Riteish Deshmukh

It was in the sets of Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003, that Ritesh and Genelia came close to each other. They became best friends, and after being 9 years successfully in relationship, Genelia and Riteish finally got married on February 3 2012. The couple are parents to sons Rahyl and Riaan. The couple has worked together in movies like Tere Naal Love Ho gaya, Masti and Lai Bhaari.

4. Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar

Akshay and Twinkle first met at the shoot of Filmfare Magazine, and Khidali Kumar had an instant crush on Twinkle. The couple actually fell in love in 1999 in the course of the making of International Khiladi. Akshay took up the assignment of triumphing over her. Ironically, in the movie Twinkle kept chasing Akshay while in fact it changed into the alternative manner around. The couple got married on January 17 2001 and has a son named Aarav.

5. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh

Love blossomed between Deepika and Ranveer on the sets of Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. The major scene was when Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director was shooting a “kissing scene”, and when he called cut, the pair didn’t stop. After being together for almost 6 years, the couple decided to finally tie the knot in 2018 at Lake Como on November 14. Together they have done movies like Padmaavat, Finding Fanny and Bajirao Mastani.

6. Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover

Both running and trying to get away from their previous relationship Karan and Bipasha met each other at the sets of Alone, and the cupid struck. On 30th April 2016, they finally tied the knot and their love only became stronger from then.

During shooting a commercial for Mr Coffee Malaika and Arbaaz met each other and eventually fell in love. The pair started dating from then itself and after five years of long relationship they decided to get married on 12 December 1998. But, unfortunately the duo broke up in 2017.

Aish being in alleged affairs with Salman Khan and Vivek Obroi met Abhishek while shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Guru. The pair fell in love while being on the sets itself and got married on 30 April 2007. Together they have worked in movies like Umrao Jaan and Dhoom 2.

But during that time Dharmendra was already married to Prakash Kaur and was already a father to two sons, Sunny and Bobby. But that did not stop him from falling in love with Hema. Richa and Ali became good friends while shooting together for Fukrey, and it was in 2017 when they made their relationship public. The duo were about to get married in April 2020 but decided to postpone it due to coronavirus pandemic.
