Anand Mahindra Lauds Mumbai Police

In India, the police have always made their impression in both negative and positive ways. Every police officer has a responsibility to protect national security by preventing crime and ensuring that others abide by rules, regulations, and governmental laws. However, we frequently encounter instances where police have played a significant role in criminal or other illegal activity and have eventually become corrupt.

As a result, the police have been placed so negatively in the general public’s perspective. But even in today’s hostile and corrupt system, we sometimes come across some instances where police put their whole efforts into order to do their duty. These officers eventually become rock stars in the eyes of the general public because they stand out from others.

Brazilian student reported a theft

After Brazilian student Souza Leao Araujo Marina, 23, reported the theft of her things to the Dindoshi Police Station, the police detained an auto-rickshaw driver.

The victim, Marina Leo, is a 23-year-old student at Goregaon’s Indira Gandhi Development and Research Institute, which is located on Film City Road, as per what Dindoshi police said.

Leo reportedly used an auto-rickshaw to go to the university on Monday at approximately 7.40 p.m. The driver accelerated away as soon as she exited the car, preventing her from retrieving the suitcase that she had left on the seat next to her. Her iPad, which was valued at 15,000 rupees, and her passport were also in the bag.

How Mumbai Police nabbed the culprit

After registering an FIR, the officer then quickly went on to go through with the case. After that, a crew went to the area where she had exited the auto-rickshaw to investigate the CCTV video of the area.

The police were able to collect a complete number plate by scanning film from around 40 CCTV cameras throughout the city. The majority of the footage was blurry because of the recent rains, which have continued. However, some of the footage became clearer when it was dry for a while. Thanks to this, the police were able to use information from the Regional Transport Office to identify the driver as Kanhaiyalal Pal, a 59-year-old local of Saki Naka.

Later, when the police squad went to his house to examine it, Leo’s bag and all of her belongings were discovered inside. In accordance with the Indian Penal Code, Pal was detained and accused of stealing. Leo’s possessions were given back to her on Friday following the completion of the required procedures.
