Woman beat Zomato delivery agent

A video of a woman allegedly hitting a Zomato delivery executive with her footwear has recently gone viral and has left netizens infuriated. The incident took place when the delivery executive was on his way to deliver a customer’s order.

The video of the incident was shared on by a Twitter user who claims to be the customer whose order was being processed by the Zomato delivery person. As per the description of the account of the event, the woman apparently took away the order from the executive and started thrashing him with her footwear on the road.

The viral video of the woman thrashing the Zomato delivery person doesn’t have any audio.

The shared video happens to be mute which seems a little off. The audio of the conversations between the delivery executive and the unknown woman is not present so it still remains a mystery.

The video was posted by the customer with the caption,

“Hi @zomatocare @zomato, the delivery executive got assaulted while delivering my order (#4267443050). Some woman took the order from him and started hitting him with her footwear. He came to my place crying and terrified that he would lose his job.”

He added,

“Luckily, bystanders recorded the incident on video, though at the moment he hasn’t received one with audio. Should probably get it by tomorrow. I tried calling customer care but they weren’t able to understand and weren’t helpful.”

The Zomato customer stated on Twitter that the delivery executive reached his doorstep crying and he also revealed the whole incident. After hearing about the mishap, the customer contacted Zomato’s customer care. He said,

“I don’t care about the order, your partner got assaulted, please help him”

They were suggested to take assistance from the company’s rider support service.

The Zomato customer wrote,

“He tried that but they didn’t understand Kannada, and of course, he was scared to lose his job”

The online food-application company was asked by the customer to immediately look into the matter and be accountable for the whole situation. He also wanted the company to hold the person who did wrong.

Replying to the tweet, Zomato care wrote,

“Hi there, thanks for sharing this. We are getting this checked.”

Netizens swarmed Twitter with mixed reactions as soon as the video clip went viral

Most of them who watched the clip asked for action against the woman for hitting the delivery executive. They said that the woman had no right to disregard the personal space of the delivery person. They appreciated the customer who brought this incident to the public eye.
