Man Slaps Woman Toll Booth Employee

It is distressing to see that violent behaviour in our culture is on the rise in a country whose founding principles were nonviolence. India is quickly urbanising, and society is starting to feel the effects in the form of an increase in violence in daily life.

And ego is one of the main reasons why people become violent. Although having an ego is common among humans, how it affects a person’s behaviour differs from person to person. Anyone has the potential to offend someone verbally or physically, which results in a violent attack.

Currently, we are living in an era where we are getting on with small things, whether it’s movie releases or normal toll plaza talks.

Yes! You heard it right. People are now getting offended by giving toll taxes and paperwork.

In recent years, we have seen many viral videos showing how people trashed normal employees from different sectors for various reasons, and in most cases, people did this because of their egos.

Something similar recently happened when a new video went viral in which a man attacks a female toll booth employee after she asks him to pay toll tax. Sounds obnoxious?

A man beat a female toll booth employee because she asked him to pay tax

According to the CCTV footage, a man assaulted a female toll booth employee on Saturday after she wouldn’t allow him to go without paying the toll tax. The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh on the Rajgarh-Bhopal highway. The incident took place at the Kachnariya toll plaza.

Angrily approaching the toll booth counter, the man can be seen arguing with the woman and slapping her in the face. But the woman didn’t seem phased. In response, she takes up her slippers and strikes the man. At this point, bystanders sought to break up the guy and woman’s violent struggle.

What do the attacker and victim have to think about this incident?

The driver of the vehicle, Rajkumar Gurjar, was not using a FASTag, which automatically deducts toll fees from an online wallet, according to an NDTV report. The man asserted that because he was a local, he should not be required to pay the toll fees. However, he lacked paperwork to support that.

That’s why he became furious and hit the woman unintentionally.

However, the victim toll booth employee, Anuradha Dangi, said,

“He said he was a local. I said but I don’t know you. Then I went and informed the supervisor. The supervisor asked him if I knew the man. I said no, and then the man got out of his vehicle, abused me and hit me. I also hit him back.”

The woman also pointed out that although there are seven female employees working at the toll station, no security is there to keep them safe.

A complaint has been filed against the attacker as a result of the incident, although he has not yet been detained. According to Ramkumar Raghuvanshi, the station chief for the neighbourhood police,

“The employees of toll plaza submitted a complaint. The woman, Anuradha Dangi, filed a written complaint against the man and we lodged a case based on that. We have registered a case under 354, 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. The accused is yet to be arrested.”
