Zomato Responds After Man Accuses Them Of Selling ₹10 Water Bottle For ₹100

Attending a concert or any event always adds to the pocket pinch as they have additional costs at the venue. The cost mostly depends on the organizers and sponsors at the event venue. A recent incident proves that one should be prepared for extremities while attending an event as you might have to buy even water at a huge expense. A techie took to the social media platform, X and accused Zomato of overcharging at an event venue.

The frustrated X user accused Zomato of selling ₹10 water bottles for ₹100 at an event

X user Pallab De took to social media to call out Zomato, charging the company of selling ₹10 water bottles for ₹100. He posted a picture that shows the price he paid for the water bottles. Tagging Zomato and advocate of Telangana High Court, Vijay Gopal, he wrote,

“How is Zomato allowed to sell ₹10 water bottles for ₹100 at concert venues where no one is allowed to bring their own bottles?”

Zomato quickly responded to the post

His post prompted a response from the company who commented that they weren’t the event organizers, they were only the ticketing partner. The company replied,

“Hi Pallab, we’re sorry for your experience. While we weren’t the event organisers but the ticketing partner, we’ve noted your feedback and will ensure it helps us improve our own events moving forward”

After this, Pallab tagged the event organiser Eva Live, and wrote,

“Tagging Eva Live, who were the event organisers and felt that they can sell Rs. 10 bottles for Rs. 100”

He also shared a picture of a bottle showing an MRP of ₹10.

The post garnered huge attention from the netizens who flooded the comment section

Most people supported the techie with their comments. A user posted,

“If the MRP is ₹10, sue them.” A third joked, “They will change the MRP definition overnight from Maximum to Minimum Retail Price.”

Another angry individual wrote,

“This is not fancy; this is outright theft, and everyone should raise their voices against these people.”
