Train journeys in India are not always a comfortable affair and overcrowding is a major issue that concerns the passengers. There are situations like packed AC coaches and ticketless passengers that add to the frustration. There are often such incidents when a passenger shares their grievances on social media platforms. Recently, a video of a woman talking about her grievances to a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) went viral. The response of the Travelling Ticket Examiner is gaining attention among the netizens.

The woman passenger was traveling in the Indian Railways on the 22969 OKHA BSBS SF EXP (Okha to Kanpur Central) train. In the video, the woman can be seen complaining about how the passengers are uncomfortable in an overcrowded train. She also adds that with so many men crowding the coaches how women can feel safe? She also mentions the lack of space to walk inside the coach, she says there is no space to stand, move, or even go to the loo.

The video of this incident was posted by X user @mshahi0024. Sharing the video, the X user wrote,

“TC: “Sorry, I am not a minister. 22969 train filled with passengers like animals, with no way even to urinate, and passengers are left stranded at the stations. Helpless girl: Sir, please make me sit on the train; the coach is full; how will a girl go among the boys?”

This post shared on April 12 garnered more than nine lakh views. Numerous people flooded the comments section of the post and expressed their opinions.

The unexpected response of the TTE attracted a lot of response from netizens

The TTE, standing at the train’s gate can be seen folding his hands and replying to the woman by saying that he cannot help as he is not the Railways Minister. He said,

“I cannot do anything in this matter. I cannot make extra trains run as I am not the Railways Minister.”

The woman apparently wanted to move to a less crowded coach, but after listening to the TTE’s response she replied back saying,

“You are only concerned about your safety and not the security of women or passengers.”

Some slammed the TTE for his weak response while others didn’t put all the blame on the TTE, as the solution to such an issue was not in his hands.
