Why Window Shades Must Be Kept Open flight

The aviation sector depends heavily on pilots, and they have long been recognized for their technical prowess, accuracy, and professionalism. Yet, in recent years, pilots have also gained popularity for their kindness and humanitarian work.

Pilots have special training to manage crises and navigate in bad weather. In life-or-death circumstances, their quick thinking and composure have saved several lives. Nonetheless, pilots have been going above and beyond the call of duty to have a good influence on society.

Emergency situations and navigating in bad weather are skills that pilots are taught. Pilots have been going above and beyond the call of duty to improve society, though, and this goes beyond the scope of their profession.

A similar kind of incident recently became the talk of the town when the pilot took the time to explain an often-overlooked safety measure. The video of the pilot’s explanation of why passengers are required to open their window shades during takeoffs and landings has since gone viral.

Pilot pleasantly explained to passengers why window shades must be kept open during takeoff and landing

A SpiceJet pilot captured the public’s attention with a unique in-flight announcement last year. On a flight from Delhi to Srinagar, the pilot, who went by the name of Mohit Teotia, pleased passengers by reading out the safety statement in lyrical Hindi.

Now, another video of the pilot explaining why passengers must open their window coverings during takeoff and landing has appeared online.

The pilot, who is also a popular social media personality, shared the video on his Instagram account along with the caption, saying,

If you know the reason, you do it with more responsibility.

The pilot cites three clear reasons in the video. The first reason is that passengers’ eyes will become used to the outside light by leaving window coverings uncovered. In addition, he claims that windows allow for a quicker escape in case of emergency and provide a clearer view of the exits. The pilot then quips that having the windows open will enable passengers to capture gorgeous scenery for their Facebook and Instagram accounts.

The incident has garnered attention and appreciation from the passengers. They were impressed by the pilot’s willingness to go above and beyond in ensuring their safety and comfort. Not only this, but his video has also gone viral on social media, with many people now reacting to it.

Instagram fans praised the pilot and enjoyed the amusing justification

The video has received more than 47,000 likes and more than 5.6 lakh views since it was posted.

As one user commented,

If next time I travel in Spicejet and don’t have you as the captain, I’m not going.

While another commented,

Lucky those who were in flight.

The pilot’s actions serve as a reminder of the importance of clear communication and a willingness to take the extra steps necessary to ensure the well-being of passengers. It also confirms that pilots are not only trained to manage crises and navigate through bad weather. But they are also making significant contributions to society outside of their profession.
