WhatsApp, a leading messaging app, has consistently changed to satisfy the needs of its enormous user base. However, over time, there have been a lot of security and privacy loopholes. Now, after end-to-end encryption that safeguards your communications, WhatsApp is developing a robust feature set to keep its users safe.
The new feature protects users against WhatsApp group fraud. It was done by alerting users to group requests and providing details before allowing them to join. However, only some WhatsApp users may currently have access to the function. Nevertheless, it will eventually be made available to all users of the app.

WhatsApp’s new feature will let you handle which WhatsApp group you want to join
WhatsApp is currently expanding its feature set to further protect its users. It is now concentrating on stopping WhatsApp group fraud by giving users additional details about group invitations prior to accepting them.
For the uninitiated, WhatsApp groups are a common way to stay in touch with friends, family, and coworkers and to plan trips and activities. However, users may get inadvertent group invitations and be unaware of the sender or the objective of the group. To address this, WhatsApp will now include more details with group invites. Details will include the sender’s identity and the reason for the invitation.
How does the new WhatsApp group feature work?
In a few months, when users are added to group conversations by strangers, an informational “context card” with important details like who formed the group when it was formed, the group description, and if the user was joined by someone in their WhatsApp contact list will be displayed. The purpose of this feature is to safeguard users in group conversations against spam and fraudulent activities.
In addition, there’s a button that lets users exit the group chat quickly. There’s also a link that leads to further details about WhatsApp’s security features.
In its FAQ page, WhatsApp highlighted,
If you’re added to a group by someone you don’t know, you’ll now see a context card giving you more information about the group. This includes who added you, how recently the group was created, and who created it.
Group frauds pose a serious hazard to the messaging service. With its new features, WhatsApp hopes to lessen the dangers associated with group fraud. So, now users will be able to choose whether to join or exit groups and have access to safety features.
Furthermore, for the majority of its users, including those in India, WhatsApp has launched Meta AI, which is powered by Llama 3. The platform’s entire user experience may be improved by using an AI chatbot to help with image creation, recipe discovery, and holiday package planning.
