Here’s What Vijay Varma Said When Tamannaah Bhatia Told Him He’d Be Her First Screen Kiss

Actors Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia have recently gained a lot of attention. However, the duo has officially confirmed their relationship and is preparing for the premiere of Lust Stories 2. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, their segment in the series will be unveiled on June 29. Following their recent confirmation, inquiries regarding their romantic relationships have swamped their interviews.

When Tamannaah opened up about her no-kiss policy

Tamannaah Bhatia spoke candidly about breaking her 18-year no-kiss rule for Lust Stories 2 in an interview with Film Companion. She highlighted her enthusiasm for working with Sujoy Ghosh and expressed her gratitude that he picked her for the role. It is because Sujoy picked her despite the fact that she had little on-screen intimacy in her career.

Tamannaah said that she once experienced awkwardness as an audience member and was adamant that she would never kiss on screen. However, she recognized the need for personal growth and artistic evolution, stating,

“I was that person, so for me, it has been an evolution to kind of get out of that framework, which served a certain audience because India is huge and there are so many parts of India that still need to evolve. There is a lot of evolution that has happened already, thanks to even internet and social media, everyone has information at their fingertips, but I do feel like—because everyone’s consuming so much content—I felt like as an actor, I don’t want this to be something that is holding me back…This was purely a creative endeavour. Now, after 18 years, I am not trying to be famous. That is not my driving force.”

During a similar interview, Tamannaah Bhatia candidly confirmed her relationship with Vijay. She also dispelled any notion that their connection was solely due to their roles as co-stars. Tamannaah emphasized that romantic relationships are not influenced by one’s profession or line of work.

Vijay Varma opened up about Tamannaah’s revelation that he’d be her first onscreen kiss

In a similar instance, actor Vijay Varma candidly shared how Tamannaah Bhatia broke her long-standing “no-kiss” policy. Speaking with Instant Bollywood, Vijay recalled their first meeting at Sujoy Ghosh’s office for a reading session. This is where they broke the ice and shared their journeys.

Speaking about Tamannaah’s no-kiss policy, she said,

“I met her [Tamanaah] for the reading at Sujoy Ghosh’s office. I think we broke the ice there. We shared our journey. She said, ‘I have been working for the last 17 years. I had a no-kiss policy in my contract.’ And then she was like, ‘I have not done anything like this before.’ In the end, she told me that ‘you are the first actor I am going to be kissing on screen’. I was like, “Thank you.””

When asked about the impact of working together on Lust Stories 2, she admitted that things had indeed changed between them. She also expressed her admiration for Vijay Varma, highlighting him as someone she looks up to and respects. Affectionately, she described him as her “happy place.”

Tamannaah said how Vijay’s approach, in which he let down his guard, enabled her to do the same. This created an environment for their relationship to develop. She underlined the value of friendship and having a companion with whom she could laugh freely and unrestrainedly. Tamannaah expressed her deep appreciation for Vijay, recognizing him as an indispensable part of her life.
