What did Sunil Gavaskar say about Hetmyer’s wife?

Sunil Gavaskar is now commentating on the IPL 2022 matches, and he made a remark regarding Shimron Hetmyer’s wife during the match between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings on May 20 at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

It was when Shimron Hetmyer stepped in at number six to bat for his team, and RR needed 47 runs in 31 balls to win the game. Let me tell you that Hetmyer, who was making his comeback to the Royals XI, stepped in to bat when RR lost their 5th wicket and found themselves in a difficult situation in their 151-run chase against CSK. Then, Gavaskar commented,

“Hetmyer’s wife delivered, will Hetmyer deliver for the Royals now?”

For the uninformed, Hetmyer had left the RR bubble to see his wife in Guyana, who was expecting their first child. On May 10, Hetmyer became a father. However, the aggressive left-hander returned to India and joined the Rajashtan Royals after spending a few days with his wife and child. He was selected by the Royals as soon as he became available for selection in their crucial penultimate match against CSK.

Sunil Gavaskar was previously embroiled in a scandal after making a remark regarding Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. However, as the story evolved, it was discovered that he had said nothing inappropriate about Anushka and that the incident had been blown out of proportion.

Talking about the match and Shimron Hetmyer’s innings, the West Indian batsman scored only 6 runs in 7 deliveries, including a boundary.
