For the uninitiated, Shikhar and Aesha were married in 2012. And in 2014, the couple became parents to their son, Zoravar. However, their marriage reached a hard point in 2020, and they decided to separate. Aesha moved to Australia shortly after that and took their son Zoravar with her. Sadly, as a result, Shikhar was unable to see his kid for over three years. Finally, a Delhi family court ordered Aesha to bring their child to India for a family gathering on June 8, 2023. The court further declared that a woman does not have sole custody of a child.

However, their divorce was ultimately approved by the family court in Delhi’s Patiala House complex on October 4, 2023. The cricketer’s divorce petition contained several accusations against his ex-wife, and the court approved all of them. While pronouncing his ruling, Judge Harish Kumar claimed that the Indian cricketer had been brutally treated and put to mental anguish by his ex-wife. The court also noted that Shikhar suffered mental anguish as a result of his separation from his child. The judge even granted Shikhar a brief opportunity to see his son, Zoravar.

Shikhar previously talked openly about his failed marriage in an interview with India Today, admitting that he was unable to see the warning signs in his relationship. The cricketer said that he had learned from his past errors and would make a better decision if he ever got married again.
