In India, where marriage is held on sacred ground, divorce is treated as taboo. Women, especially, are taught that their husband’s home is their home and that the only time they should leave it is when they leave the world. The great Indian wedding holds immense cultural importance. It’s not only a union of two people; it’s a union of families, cultures, and traditions. It’s bound by religious beliefs and societal values, and it shapes our beloved country.
Indian divorce rates are one of the lowest in all of the world. According to recent data from the Global Index, India’s divorce rate stood at an astounding 1%. Although the numbers are increasing, they don’t have a pace.

She captioned her video,

The video has 1.7 million views, 108 million likes, and 1.8 million comments. Netizens were taken aback by how easy it is for some married people to seek divorce. One user commented, “Premarital counseling should be made compulsory,” and another said, “Shows that for those looking for excuses, even trivial issues can be a trigger.”

Providing support and guidance to these couples can be a good alternative to divorce. Don’t you think?
