Father’s Day is a special occasion where people express gratitude and appreciation for their fathers, it is celebrated in many countries around the world to honor fathers and father figures for their role in the family and society. Father’s Day is typically celebrated on the third Sunday of June although the date may vary in some areas. Celebrations often include spending quality time with fathers, and offering gifts, etc.
On this special day, Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan wrote a heartfelt post for his dad. He also mentioned that it has been an emotional day for him as Shikhar has ‘no contact’ with his own son.

For the unversed, Shikhar was granted a divorce from his wife, Aesha on grounds of cruelty. Together they have a son, Zoravar who was born in 2014. After his divorce, his wife got the custody of their son. Due to Dhawan’s ex-wife’s commitment to her daughters from her previous marriage, she is required to stay in Australia and she could not live in India. His ex-wife compelled the Indian cricketer to live separately from his only son for years.

In October last year, on account of Shikhar being subjected to mental cruelty, the cricketer was granted divorce by a local court in Delhi from his estranged wife, Aesha Mukerji.
Speaking to Humans of Bombay, Dhawan once said,

“When I used to visit my son in Australia for a week, he used to meet me only for a few hours. I want to spend quality time with him, want him to sleep in my arms, I want to hug him tight, give him the father’s love he deserves. I haven’t had a word with him for the last 5-6 months”

In the post, Dhawan claimed that he has ‘no contact’ with his son, Zoravar. Sharing a picture with his father and son, he wrote on Instagram,
“Wishing my dad a very Happy Father’s Day. Thankyou for everything. Also, It’s a emotional Father’s Day for me without hearing from my son, as I have no contact with him so wishing Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers experiencing the same feeling. Sending love and positivity to them.”

Following the divorce, the court had given mandatory visitation rights to Mr Dhawan to meet his son in India and Australia. The judge also ordered Ms Aesha to bring their son to India for visitation purposes.
