Shibani Dandekar Responds After Trolls Say She Posted About Karwa Chauth For Money

The concept of “Karwa Chauth” has diverse connotations for different people. While some consider it to be a retrograde practise that shouldn’t be supported today, others see it as a personal decision and an opportunity to enjoy the day to the utmost.

There are some who simply adore the idea of large gatherings, and the same is true for many Bollywood celebrities. However, in a society where social media rules and dictates all decisions, there will inevitably be people with opposing viewpoints, and if you are famous, you will likely face trolling for one reason or another.

Let me tell you that social media is full of joyful things. However, it is also full of things that might frustrate someone. While many people happily celebrate every festival, there are many people who try to find fault with every festival. Those people not only find fault but also troll other people who are celebrating.

While some Bollywood stars, like Sonam Kapoor, did not fast, others, like Ankita Lokhande, did so in honour of their spouses. Sonam, however, asserted that she enjoyed the celebrations and took part in them.

However, this time, a well-known TV presenter and an actress, Shibani Dandekar, who is also well-known for being Farhan Akhtar’s wife, became a new target of trolls for posting her beautiful Karwa Chauth pictures. Shibani Dandekar shared a stunning picture on the day of Karwa Chauth in which she can be seen dressed festively with a luxury mangalsutra. It appears that the post was a sponsored advertisement for Bulgari Mangalsutra.

In the caption of her post, she wrote,

“Immortalizing my first-ever Karwachauth with this beautiful & timeless @bulgari Mangalsutra. Needless to say, I didn’t fast but the Love & Banter for @faroutakhtar says it all. Let’s celebrate Love. #HappyKarwaChauth #Bulgari #BulgariMangalsutra #BulgariJewelry #Bzero1 #Collab.”

However, this post didn’t sit well with many users as it indicates that she utilises the celebration to advertise the jewellery brand.

“Karwa Chauth a day of immense importance for many women has been reduced to this ?! She doesn’t fast, she doesn’t celebrate and in private probably ridicules it but yes she will use the day to make some money by selling a product.. slow clap !”

While another said,

“Not fasting but promoting yet another patriarchal symbol that’s mangalsutra? Why should women be announcing their ‘taken’ status by wearing or promoting such discriminatory rituals?”

Shibani Dandekar gives a mouth-shutting reply to the trolls

Responding to all these allegations and trolling, Shibani Dandekar took to Instagram and said,

“My mind is blown by how incredibly nasty people are. Aishwarya you are as nasty as they come. This is how you spend your time? Spreading hate on the internet? At least have the b***s to tag me like I’m going to tag you @otherwarya. P.S. I am stating the obvious. I really do not need life advice from you! How sad that you have become this brave keyword warrior and think we will all sit here and take your bulls*** and be silent!”

Her remarks had gone viral on various social media platforms, with many people appreciating her for standing up against these classic trolls.
