Shatrughan Sinha Gave It Back To Mukesh Khanna For His Remarks On Sonakshi Sinha

Amidst the lockdown, the Doordarshan channel announced the re-telecast of mythological epics such Mahabharat and Ramayan, in order to keep everyone busy and to remind us of the good old days. People all around the nation are enjoying the re-run of these shows.

Mukesh Khanna doesn’t mince his words. The actor, who is best known for his work in Mahabharat and Shaktimaan, has previously lashed out at Ekta Kapoor for the various versions of Ramayan and Mahabharat made on the small screen. However, this time around, he is unimpressed by Sonakshi Sinha. The renowned television actor has called out the Dabangg actress in a new interview. Mukesh was discussing the return of Ramayan and Mahabharat with Times of India when he lashed out Sonakshi.

Well, for the unversed, Sonakshi Sinha had appeared on the show Kaun Banega Crorepati and was asked a question related to Ramayana. However, the actress failed to answer for whom the Hanuman got the Sanjeevani booti. Mukesh Khanna, who played Bhishma Pitamah in Mahabharat, has unintentionally taken a jibe at Sonakshi Sinha for not knowing some details of the epic mythological show.

Taking a dig at Sonakshi Singa, Mukesh Khanna had said,

“I think the re-runs will be useful to many who haven’t watched the show earlier. It will also help people like Sonakshi Sinha who have no knowledge about our mythological sagas. People like her don’t know who did lord Hanuman get Sanjivani for.”

Well, Mukesh Khanna’s statements didn’t go down well with Shatrughan Sinha, the father of Sonakshi Sinha who has now finally opened up about the same and has slammed the actor for the same. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shatrughan Sinha said,

“I believe someone has problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion? I am very proud of all my three children. Sonakshi became a star on her own. I never had to launch her career. She is a daughter any father would be proud to have. Not answering a question on the Ramayan doesn’t disqualify Sonakshi from being a good Hindu. She doesn’t need a certificate of approval from anyone.”

Earlier, Nitish Bharadwaj who played Krishna in Mahabharat alongside Mukesh Khanna, had also taken a dig at Mukesh Khanna. In an interview he had said,

“Why target Sonakshi alone? There’s always a better way to say the same thing. A balanced, soft and empathetic way; and it is received better too. Seniors seem worthy of respect if they walk the path of empathy.”

Now that’s some support shown towards Sonakshi by her doting father, Shatrughna Sinha.
