“When it came out in Filmfare, I was in London and I was unaware till Shakti (Samanta, director) ji called me and said, will you come back quickly? There are terrible things happening here. He said if you want to be in the public eye, this is not the way to go.”

‘I believe questions were asked in the Parliament,’ said Sharmila Tagore

In agreement with Karan Johar, Sharmila Tagore acknowledged the parallel between the bygone controversy and the trolling that happens today on social media. Tagore expressed the unpleasantness she endured during those days as questions pertaining to her cover shot were asked even in the Parliament. She shared on KWK that,

“I can’t tell you…I believe questions were asked in the Parliament. It was not pleasant for me.”

She shared how she subsequently became more cautious and strategically opted for her next projects.

“After that, I was very careful and I chose ‘Aradhana’. It was the ‘RRR’ of our time.”
