Karan Johar Bahu Lao

Karan Johar is a renowned filmmaker and TV show host who is often a victim of trolls. Karan hosts his talk show Koffee with Karan which invites celebrities from the Bollywood industry. Karan’s sexual orientation has always been the talk of the town and a topic of discussion for the trolls. The filmmaker often gets harsh remarks for his way of living and mannerisms. Speculation about his private life often triggers the director who has never backed out from shutting the trolls.

A few months back, Karan Johar hosted Bollywood’s IT couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone on his chat show Koffee With Karan. The episode faced a lot of trolling after Deepika told about her and Ranveer’s open relationship when they first started seeing each other.

The filmmaker did an Instagram Live to shut down trolls and spoke about constructive criticism. Karan Johar said,

“Keep your criticism constructive. If you want to troll us…Do what you need to do because no one’s looking.”

“Trolling gets you nowhere. You are landing nowhere. You’re filling and brimming your heart with negativity but landing nowhere because what’s gonna happen will happen to the people you’re trolling. If they’re gonna meet the success, they will. If they’re gonna fail, they will. It has nothing to do with you.”

The filmmaker concluded by saying,

“For all those who are consistently being positive, more power to you because positivity is the key to your own success.”

Recently, one of the trolls urged Karan to bring a ‘bahu’ (daughter-in-law) home, which didn’t sit well with the director

The filmmaker seems to have been angry by a comment left by a troll on his latest post. He took to Instagram stories to hit back and share his opinion on the said remark. On Karan’s recent post, the troll commented,

“Bahu laa do maa ko time pass nahi hota hoga (Get a wife; it must be hard for your mother to pass her time).”

Filmmaker Karan Johar slammed a troll for his offensive comment. Karan responded with a big paragraph on his Instagram story, explaining how his family functions

The filmmaker discussed the “improper comment” in detail on his Instagram account.

Karan posted a screen capture of the offensive remark that he had received. In his Instagram story, he wrote,

“Of all the crazy trolls, the abuse and judgment I get about my life choices and my way of being I find comments like this offensive.”

He stated that a daughter-in-law is more than just a “time pass” for her in-laws’. He further wrote,

“Firstly no “bahu” should be a time pass for anyone’s mother … a bahu is a label which comes with ridiculous regressive baggage… she is an individual in her own right and can pass her time how she likes personally and professionally.”

Karan concluded,

“Also, to everyone, I would like to add, my mother co-parents my children with me and doesn’t need any ‘time pass’. Her life is complete by the love we receive from her and we do our best to give it back. And bringing in a ‘bahu’ is not an option to whoever is concerned about my relationship status! If I were to have a partner, I would do so to fill my void, not anyone else’s ! Thank you for listening.

On the work front, after 7 years, Karan Johar returned to the director’s chair with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. At present, Karan’s chat show Koffee With Karan Season 8 is streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
