Shae, like her song, is also making news, but for very different reasons. And the matter goes out of hand to some extent when Shae had to clarify her religious identity on social media.

Shae Gill expressed her condolences for Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala

It’s all started when Shae Gill expressed condolences for Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s death a few days earlier, stating,

“Heartbroken. May his soul rest in peace and may his family and friends have the strength to bear this loss.”

Moose Wala was assassinated by armed gunmen in Punjab on Tuesday, allegedly as part of a gang feud, and was cremated in his ancestral village.

Since then, many people from both Pakistan and India voiced their opinions in supporting her on various social media platforms. Lots of people went on Twitter to say that what she did was very amazing while many people clarified that what the troll said is totally wrong and misleading.

Furthermore, Gill expressed her displeasure with others policing her. On Instagram, the Lahore-based singer wrote,

“I honestly wouldn’t have announced it like that but I just got sick of people believing that they could police me by that standard.”

Shae Gill’s Pasoori may fill the border gaps between the countries but sometimes his own country’s people are unable to understand her. While many people from India think that it is natural in Pakistan because we have seen so many incidents like this, it is also the fact that many also went on to support her, just like we did in India.
