Sanju Samson’s Father Blames Dhoni, Kohli, Rohit & Coach Rahul Dravid For ‘Wasting 10 Years of Son’s Career’

Cricketer Sanju Samson is currently in his top form, scoring back-to-back centuries in T20Is, which made him the first Indian to achieve the feat. Sanju’s hard work and effort are being recognized by the people and they are praising him for his great work. In the middle of all this, a video of Sanju Samson’s father has gone viral on the internet.

The controversial video is doing rounds on social media where Sanju’s father can be heard blaming some of the renowned past cricketers and current stars for almost destroying his son’s career.

In a recent interview, Samson’s father accuses MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and former coach Rahul Dravid of wasting 10 crucial years of his son’s career. All of them named by Samson’s father have led India in the T20I format at some point in their career. Among them, former India coach Rahul Dravid was the coach of the T20 World Cup-winning side.

In the interview, broadcasted on Malayalam news channel MediaOne, Samson’s father was heard saying,

“There are 3-4 people who wasted 10 years of my son’s vital career…captains like Dhoni ji, Virat ji, Rohit ji, and coach Dravid ji.” He expressed frustration about his son’s delayed career trajectory, adding, “Despite all the setbacks caused by these four, Sanju only grew stronger.”

Sanju’s recent performances have brought him into the spotlight

Samson has featured in numerous T20I matches, including a standout 2022-2023 season. Despite this success, Samson has faced multiple hindrances in his career. After consecutive ducks in T20Is against South Africa, he was dismissed by Marco Jansen. Sanju was dismissed for a two-ball duck by Marco Jansen in the third T20I against South Africa in Centurion on Wednesday.

The wicketkeeper-batter also met with a similar fate in the earlier encounter against Jansen when he was bowled for a three-ball duck, making him the first batter to hit two consecutive tons and get dismissed on consecutive ducks in the following T20I innings.

Samson’s position in the Indian team remains under constant threat due to growing competition from young players like Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and KL Rahul. These players are expected to be part of the Indian white-ball setup soon.

Though Sanju got criticized, these setbacks come after more than 10 years of hard work to secure a consistent spot in the national team.
