Rohit Sharma Roasts David Warner

All the IPL franchises are now gearing up for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2021. The tournament is slated to start from April 9 this year and all the big names have landed in India to join their squads. A total of 6 venues have been finalized to conduct the IPL this year as there will be no home and away venues for any team. The 6 venues that have been finalized are Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Delhi. The initial games of the tournament will take place behind closed doors as COVID-19 cases in India keep taking a toll. Mumbai Indians will be in action in the first game of the tournament itself against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

We all are aware that Rohit Sharma has a great sense of humour. The Mumbai Indians skipper has often seen posting funny comments on the social media posts of his teammates. Recently Rohit trolled Australian batsman David Warner on Instagram with a witty comment, which can be expected only out of the Indian opener.

On Saturday, Warner posted a video of himself on his official Instagram account. Through the video, he informed his fans that he has arrived in India for the upcoming 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. He will be seen back in action as the skipper of the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He also revealed that he has to spend seven days in quarantine after his arrival, due to the COVID-19 protocols. On Thursday, Warner posted a picture with his wife Candice Warner on social media and said “last wine together” and added it was time to pack the bags and head to India.

Warner can be heard saying in the video he uploaded,

“I’m just waking up after a massive sleep, arrived yesterday afternoon here in Chennai. Got some 6-7 days to get through quarantine. I need some ideas, please comment below give me some ideas funny stuff, silly stuff whatever it is. Netflix shows, I need something”

However, Mumbai Indians’ skipper, Rohit Sharma, was quick to see the funny side as he commented.

“Must be missing Tiktok.”

Notably, Warner entertained the fans to the fullest during the coronavirus lockdown, making videos on the short video platform TikTok. However, the Indian government made a massive decision of banning 59 Chinese apps from India, one of which includes TikTok.

Warner produced many such funny videos on TikTok during the lockdown and continued it after that as well. He even had his family get on with it. However, the social media app is banned in India. Hence, Warner would not be able to enjoy making his TikTok videos once he is in the country. Now you can guess what Rohit Sharma was trying to say with that sarcastic comment.
