Despite the widespread notion that Rachin Ravindra’s name, “Rachin,” is a combination of cricketing greats Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, his father Ravi Krishnamurthy emphasized that the naming was not deliberate.

Explaining why he named his son Rachin, Ravi Krishnamurthy said,

“When Rachin was born, my wife suggested the name, and we didn’t spend a lot of time discussing it. The name sounded good, was easy to spell, and was short, so we decided to go with it. It was only some years later that we realized the name was a mix of Rahul and Sachin’s names. He wasn’t named with the intention to make our child a cricketer or anything of the sort.”

Even though Ravindra wasn’t originally named in Tendulkar and Dravid’s honor, he quickly made a lasting impression on cricket history. In terms of surpassing Tendulkar’s records, he has already done it in a few areas. It include most World Cup runs and hundreds by the age of 25.
