Pooja Bhatt FINALLY Breaks Silence On Reports Claiming Alia Bhatt Is Her Daughter

The age-old rumours claiming Alia Bhatt is Pooja Bhatt’s daughter are nothing new at all. People were somehow convinced that Pooja is Alia Bhatt’s mother and as funny as it sounds, many believed it. The actress never spoke or addressed such rumours until recently. Pooja Bhatt gained a lot more attention after qualifying as one of the five finalists in the popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’ hosted by none other than Salman Khan.

Although the actress has been quite ‘hush hush’ about her personal life, she shared quite a lot of it in Bigg Boss. Similarly, she has hit the headlines recently after she reacted to the Alia Bhatt rumour.

Pooja Bhatt finally broke her silence on rumours that claims Alia Bhatt is her daughter

The 51-year-old filmmaker-actress spoke up about the aforementioned rumour in an interview with Siddarth Kanan, back when reports claimed that Alia is her daughter. She called such rumours ‘absurd’.

She said,

“Yeh toh humare desh mein bahut purani cheez hai (This is not new in our country). Start talking about somebody’s relationship with their daughter or with their bhabhi or with their sister or with their whatever. Now, how do you counteract that? Ke aap iss cheez ko dignity bhi de sakte hai respond kar ke? It is absurd”

In reality, Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt are half-sisters. Both of them are the daughters of the famous filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. Pooja Bhatt is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Kiran Bhatt and Alia is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Sonia Razdan, making them both step-sisters.

Pooja and Alia share a very good bond with each other

During the interview, Pooja Bhatt also spoke about their equation and how has constantly supported her throughout her time at the Bigg Boss house.

She said,

“Alia called me the day I came out of ‘Bigg Boss’ and told me ‘Pooja, I have felt the closest to you during ‘Bigg Boss’ because there has been not a single day when I did not watch it.’ She used to watch the show 24/7”

Alia also spoke fondly about their bond in an interview back in 2014 saying,

“Actually recently it’s become much better. We have gotten close as a family. People would always say that you have a step-sister, stepmother, and all that but it never bothered me”

She also added that their family is so real that the thought wouldn’t even cross your mind as they genuinely like to spend time with each other and it is no facade that they put on.
