A passenger recently took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a distressing experience while traveling in an Ola cab on a busy Mumbai road. The passenger named Rohan Khule, recorded a video showing the driver distractedly watching videos of Bigg Boss reels and omelette-making tutorials on his phone, all while navigating through the city’s chaotic traffic.

To say that this incident raised serious concerns about safety, as the driver’s divided attention put the passenger’s life at risk would be a sheer understatement. Rohan’s post quickly gained traction on social media, sparking widespread discussions about the responsibilities of professional drivers. In his caption, he called out Ola, stating,

“Dear Ola, Your driver is learning how to cook an omelette while driving at the cost of risking our lives. Your scooters are already on fire, hope you take corrective measures before this one also turns up in flames and soon turn into ashes.”

The post emphasized the need for strict actions against such drivers who not just put their but also the passengers’ life at risk.

The Mumbai Police took note of the viral video shared by Rohan Khule and responded to his post on X. They requested more details about the incident to take action, stating,

“We request that if the address you provided is not sufficient send us the full address.”

They further wrote,

 The prompt response highlights the authorities’ commitment to ensuring road safety.

Soon after the video went viral, Ola Support responded to Rohan Khule’s tweet, expressing concern over the incident. They requested more details to investigate the matter, stating,

“We find this matter deeply concerning, Rohan. Kindly share the CRN of this ride via DM for us to investigate and assist you at the earliest.”

 While the company’s quick reaction shows their intent to address the issue, it is also the responsibility of the drivers to be careful and attentive towards their duties.
