Ahead of the showpiece tournament, Pakistan received a warm reception in Hyderabad

The whole crew of the Pakistan cricket team landed in Hyderabad, India. Seldom they have would have anticipated receiving such a warm reception. At the airport itself, a plethora of fans were there to cheer for the Pakistani players and showcase their happiness. cheerfulness. On their way to Park Hyatt, tight security was provided to the crew. Even at Hyatt, the staff were holding banners that read “All the Best! Champions.”

The official handle of Pakistan Cricket took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared how they received an incredible welcome. They shared a video as they wrote in the caption,

“warm welcome in Hyderabad as we land on Indian shores”

“Felt like we are in Karachi or Lahore after winning World -Cup,” said Pakistan keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan

Pakistani players were awestruck by the buzz created by their fans in Hyderabad. One such player was Mohammad Rizwan. Post their conclusion of the warm-up match against New Zealand, Rizwan was quoted saying,

“The Indian crowd gave us a lot of love at the airport. In resemblance to how our fans love us back in Pakistan. We were welcomed in India in an incredible way. Whenever we meet Indian people anywhere in the world, they always welcome us and talk to us nicely.”

He also shared,

“When we came to Hyderabad, all the Pakistani players got goosebumps seeing the reception of the crowd. It felt like we’re in Karachi or Lahore”

He affirmed that one day if India also comes to Pakistan we can assure that they will also receive a welcome as great as this or perhaps even a better one.

Rizwan also talked about the warm-up match against New Zealand where he scored a perfect 103*

On Friday, in their warm-up match against New Zealand, Pakistan gave an incredible performance but nonetheless, they had to face a defeat. Pakistan scored 345 runs while batting first, but New Zealand managed to chase down the target with five wickets remaining.

Rachin Ravindra was the highest scorer with 97 runs, and Kane Williamson made a half-century before retiring. James Neesham, Mark Chapman, and Daryl Mitchell played crucial roles in finishing the innings, with both Chapman and Mitchell also scoring half-centuries. Even though Rizwan made a perfect 103 and Babar Azam also hit an 80, the Black Caps won the match with 38 balls to spare.

Rizwan talked about the warm-up match and his perfect 103* where he mentioned,

“A hundred is a hundred, proud and happy of it. Scoring a century for Pakistan is always special. Does not matter if its a domestic match or an international one.”
