Who is Nina Kothari?

Nina Kothari was born into the well-known Ambani family and is the daughter of the founder of Reliance Industries, the late Dhirubhai Ambani. Her entrepreneurial spirit came to light when she founded a coffee and food chain called Javagreen back in 2003. Although Javagreen wasn’t a massive success as against the competitors, it held up the spirit she had to do something of her own.

Even though tragedy struck her life after her husband, the businessman Bhadrashyam Kothari, succumbed to terminal cancer in 2015, she bounced back stronger. Completely alone with the responsibility of raising their two children, she found herself in a tough spot. But she faced the challenge head on and never turned back. She confidently took the reins of the family business, Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Limited.

Her eldest son, Arjun, serves as the Managing Director of Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Limited, and is working hand in hand with his mother to expand their family legacy. The daughter of Nina, Nayantara, is married Shamit Bhartia, the son of Shyam and Shobhana Bhartia, and grandson of KK Birla.

In 2019, Arjun tied the knot with Anandita Mariwala, who is the daughter of Rajen and Anjali Mariwala from the prestigious Marico family. This furthermore strengthened the bonds between two influential business families, extending their shared vision of entrepreneurship.
