kaif reply fan

Former Indian star player Mohammad Kaif caught all the limelight on social media after the 42-year-old player replied to a fan who tweeted that he stopped watching cricket after the Indian team management dropped Kaif from the squad despite scoring 91 runs in the previous game.

Over the years, several former Indian cricketers have come out in open and expressed their disappointment bout how they were unfairly dropped from the Indian team only to be never picked again.

There have been a few players who were left out of the team despite winning the Player of the Match award and were never picked again. Kaif is one such player who was dropped from the team in 2006 and wasn’t picked again.

Fan said he stopped watching cricket after Kaif was dropped from Team India

Meanwhile, on Monday, a fan shared how he stopped watching the game of cricket after Kaif was dropped from the team. The fan wrote:

“I stopped watching @BCCI cricket matches after you were dropped in the next match despite scoring highest run of 91 runs in the previous test match at Nagpur against England.”

Mohammad Kaif soon noticed the tweet from the fan and came up with a heart-winning reply

In his reply, Kaif Kaif stated that he should forget what happened in the past and should support team India. He wrote:

“Chodo purani baatein Arif. Cricket is bigger than cricketers. The game is nothing without fans. World Cup is in India, support Team India and fall in love with the game again.”

It has to be noted that while the fan was right about Mohammad Kaif’s heroic knock of 91-runs, however, the middle-order batter wasn’t dropped immediately after that knock. Kaif travelled to West Indies with the team and went on to play all four-Test matches before getting dropped from the team.

During that Test series, he played a brilliant knock of unbeaten 148 runs in one of those Test games.

Overall, Kaif has played 13 Tests for team India, amassing 624 runs in 22 innings at an average of close to 33 with 1 century and 3 half-centuries. In the 125 ODI matches, Kaif scored 2753 runs with 2 centuries and 17 fifties at an average of 32.

I am a cricket romantic who loves covering every aspect of this game. A creative person at him but I aim to put down words in the simplest terms to make it easily understandable for the lovers of this game.
