Recently, there has been much discussion about how cultural change is reflected in the evolution of eating patterns. Food consumption habits have changed significantly in recent decades due to a combination of factors such as globalization, industrialization, changes in lifestyle, and technological improvements. A growing number of people are substituting or supplementing their traditional diets with packaged foods and beverages.
Due to this, India’s packaged food business has grown at an exponential rate in recent years. However, this growth has also raised various kinds of concerns. From the durability of packed food to its quality, every single mistake becomes a point of scrutiny nowadays. Similarly, a Faridabad resident recently found fungus in Dabur’s Real Fruit Juice. The news raised concerns about the product’s quality, causing outrage on Reddit. Later, the company responded to the allegations publicly.

Fungus found in Real Fruit Juice owned by Dabur
A man from Faridabad recently purchased a tetra pack of Real Fruit Juice from the closest DMart. He gave it a thorough shake and poured the juice into a glass. However, the spout choked after he had consumed some of it. He tried to see what actually choked his juice’s spout. Soon, he found a weird jelly-like thing from the packet of the juice. He concluded that its a fungus and juice as contaminated. Since then, Dabur has expressed regret for the incident and reportedly ruled it out as Fungus.
On Reddit, a user named TheAxiomaticGaming shared the whole story on Delhi community’s post with the title that reads:
Found contamination inside a sealed ‘Tetra pack’ of Real Fruit juice!
The post stated:
Got it a few days ago from the nearest DMART, Opened it and chugged half of it within in a day or two. Suddenly the spout got chocked so I gave it a good shake, then emptied the juice in a glass only to realise it had a weird contamination inside of it. Still Alive and well, Thankyou.
How did Dabur react to the incident?
In his post, the Redditor also added how Dabur responded to the incident. He wrote that as soon as he contacted Dabur, they apologized for convenience; however, they ruled out the possibility of fungus. Telling about this, Redditor wrote,
Wrote an email to Dabur apprising them of the situation, They apologized for the inconveniences caused and ruled it out allegedly as FUNGUS which is weird cuz the pack was sealed shut. Told them that they can have the remaining juice back should they plan of investigating the content further to which they sorta agreed. But hey, atleast I’m getting a free replacement for the same now yayyyyy!!! FREE JUICE
