Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan, known for his roles in hit films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Luka Chuppi, is back in the spotlight following the premiere of his latest movie, Chandu Champion. Amidst the roar of his latest film, an old video clip from a popular talk show Koffee with Karan is going viral. Apparently, there musician Badshah called Kartik as ‘overrated’. Kartik’s response over this claim is now going viral on the internet.

Kartik Aaryan once made his appearance on Indian filmmaker Karan Johar’s talk show named Koffee With Karan, season six. During his appearance, Kartik Aaryan sat alongside his Luka Chuppi co-star, Kriti Sanon. In a candid segment, Karan Johar asked Kartik to name an overrated actor in Bollywood. Kartik tactfully declined, citing his recent entry into the industry.

He responded as we quote,

“Abhi abhi chalu kiya hoon kaam. Kisi ko overrated bolna matlab…””I feel I am too new right now to comment on anyone else. (I’ve just begun my journey here. I mean…I feel I am too new right now to comment on anyone else)”

Kartik’s response highlighted his humility and respect for his peers. However, Karan added something that was shocking for the actor himself.

In the same episode, Karan Johar revealed that musician Badshah called Kartik Aaryan ‘overrated’

As Kartik was wrapping up his response, Karan interrupted him with a surprising statement. Karan said,

“But people have called you overrated on this couch.”

This revelation visibly shocked Kartik, who responded with disbelief, asking,

“Sir, why would someone call anyone overrated?”

He pressed Karan to disclose who made such a comment, to which Karan revealed it was Badshah.

Kartik expressed his surprise at Badshah’s remark. He quickly recalled a previous conversation where the rapper had actually praised his work. Kartik recalled how Badshah had called him after the success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety to appreciate his performance. Kartik reciprocated the admiration by expressing his fondness for Badshah’s music, emphasizing that his entire family were fans. It is no doubt that controversies arise out of talk shows especially Koffee With Karan. Well, earlier in the same season of Koffee With Karan, Badshah made an appearance on the show alongside Diljit Dosanjh.

During the rapid-fire round, Karan Johar asked Badshah to name an overrated actor in the Bollywood industry. Badshah mentioned Kartik Aaryan in response to this question. When further pressed by Karan to name an overrated actress, Badshah couldn’t think of anyone specific to mention.
