Imagine a class 3 kid writing a gratitude letter to the Indian army. Sounds unbelievable, right? But it has happened in the Wayanad district of Kerala where a boy named Rayan wrote a heartfelt letter to the army rescuers. A class 3 student from AMLP School in Kerala’s Wayanad district probably would have never imagined that his letter would get a response from the army.

Well, we all know that the region had recently been devastated by massive landslides caused by heavy rainfall, leaving many people trapped under debris. Touched by the Indian Army’s relentless rescue efforts, Rayan felt compelled to express his gratitude to the brave soldiers who risked their lives to save others. In his letter, written in Malayalam, Rayan shared how proud he was to see the Army in action.
In his touching letter, Rayan wrote,
“I am Rayan. My beloved Wayanad was struck by a massive landslide, creating havoc and destruction. I felt proud and happy to see you rescuing people who were stuck under debris.”
His words reflected the deep admiration and appreciation he felt for the soldiers’ dedication and bravery. Not just this Rayan also mentioned how even he wishes to join the army after he saw a video where soldiers were eating biscuits to satisfy their hunger while setting up a bridge in the disaster-stricken area. This sight moved him deeply and inspired him to express his desire to join the Indian Army one day and protect the nation.

The Southern Command of the Army took to X and shared the letter of this little boy with a heartwarming response
The Indian Army’s Southern Command shared the letter on their official X handle (formerly known as Twitter), expressing how touched they are by such words of encouragement and inspiration.
In their response, the Army wrote,
“Dear Master Rayan, Your heartfelt words have deeply touched us. In times of adversity, we aim to be a beacon of hope, and your letter reaffirms this mission. Heroes like you inspire us to give our utmost. We eagerly await the day you don the uniform and stand alongside us. Together, we will make our nation proud. Thank you, young warrior, for your courage and inspiration.”
These words not only acknowledged Rayan’s gratitude but also highlighted the impact his letter had on the soldiers.
