Over in India, the cricket fever was in full swing, with the Pakistan cricket team making their presence known for the World Cup. They had already defeated the Netherlands, and excitement was growing as they prepared for their next challenge on October 10, facing Sri Lanka in a match set to take place at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

In the meantime, India defeated Australia in a thrilling World Cup opening match by chasing down a 200-run total with six wickets remaining. The heroes of the day were KL Rahul, who narrowly missed a century at 97*, and Virat Kohli, with a solid 85. Their partnership of 165 runs turned the game around after a rough start in which Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Shreyas Iyer were all knocked out at zero. It was an emotional rollercoaster, and the Indian fans were overwhelmed by pride with this beautiful victory.

Earlier, in Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium, Australia and India are playing. Shubman Gill missed the first game due to sickness, and Australia chose to bat first against India.
