The global icon Diljit Dosanjh who became the first Indian musician to perform on The Tonight Show recently performed in Mumbai on December 19 as a part of his 2024 Dil-Luminati Tour. The popular Punjabi singer and actor has been performing in major cities in India where all of his concerts are sold out. Though the singer is loved by millions of worldwide, his Dil-Luminati tour India leg has been facing some problems due to political issues.
It all started when the Telangana government issued him a notice to alter his playlist to remove certain songs that might be unsuitable for kids and where the lyrics involve alcohol. After that, the singer has been receiving identical notices. Diljit opened about the same at his concert in Mumbai.

At his Mumbai show, Diljit Dosanjh addressed his fans and took a dig at the new advisory by the Maharashtra government
For the uninitiated, the Maharashtra government issued an advisory for the singer’s Mumbai concert. He explained the rules to his audience in the form of a mythological story. Similar to the government advisory of other states, the Maharashtra government issued a notice asking the singer to alter his playlist and skip the songs that mention drugs, alcohol, and violence. Before Maharashtra, the governments of Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Chandigarh issued similar notices before the concerts.
Diljit has received multiple notices advising him not to sing songs about drugs and alcohol as they are not good for kids. He has also been advised to not call children on stage during his shows.

After he was done with his performance, Diljit apparently took a dig at the advisory issued to him by the Maharashtra government
The singer is currently on his Dil-Luminati tour and has received multiple notices advising him not to sing songs about drugs and alcohol as they are not good for kids. He has also been advised to not call children on stage during his shows.
Diljit’s video from his Mumbai concert shows him promising his audience that they would have fun despite the restrictions. He shared the mythological story of Samudramanthan during his speech and also cited Pushpa’s iconic ‘Aaj jhukeyga nahi’ gesture. He said,
“Maine poocha koi advisory toh nahi jaari ho gayi apni team se, unhoney bola nahi nahi sab theek hai. Aaj utha subha toh pata chala advisory jaari ho gayi hai bhai. Aap fikar nahi karey, saari advisory mere upar, aap jitna mazza karney aaye hai mai double mazza dunga. Aaj subha jab yoga kar raha tha toh ek khayal aaya man mei. Aaj k show ki shuruaat uskey saath karta hu. Jab sagarmanthan hua tha na, saarag manthan toh jo amrit tha na vo toh Devta ne piya lekin jo vish tha, jo zeher tha jo Shiv ne piya. Aur Shivji bhi vo zeher apney andar nahi lekar gaye. Unhoney apney kanth tak rakha. Toh mujhe toh yehi seekhney ko mila ki zindagi aur duniya aap par jitna marzi zeher phekey aap usko apney andar mat lekar jana.”
Diljit Dosanjh also takes a dig at Bollywood music during his Mumbai concert
Another clip shared by Diljit Dosanjh on social media showed him calling Mumbai the primary hub of the Hindi film industry. He also emphasized how Bollywood produces a lot of songs on alcohol. He stated,
“Ye toh Mumbai hai, Mumbai right? Yahan toh badey gaane hai sharab par badey gaane. Mai waise kisi artist ka naam lena nahi chahata unkey gaano ka naam nahi lena chahata. Na waisa mere mann mei hai na mai waisa kuch kehna chahata hu. Aap logon ko zaada pata hai. Lekin mere gaano ki awaaz aajkal sabse zaada hai.”

Recently, the singer took to Instagram and shared a photo of a mother holding her toddler at the concert
While sharing his photos from his Mumbai concert, the singer shared a photo of a mother holding her toddler at the concert. The toddler was wearing a dress with ‘Main hoon Punjab’ on the bodice and wore ear muffs to avoid damage to the ears. Diljit posted the image and wrote,
“This is the beauty of Dil-Luminati Tour.”
After a spectacular performance in Mumbai, the singer is all set to perform in Guwahati next.
