Danish Kaneria is one renowned Pakistani cricketer who was very famous during his days. For all the right reasons? Indeed for all the right reasons. However, many do not know that he is a Hindu and devout follower of Narendra Modi. On Sunday, October 22nd, he strongly responded to ‘journalist’ Arfa Khanum Sherwani regarding her latest tweet.

He suggested her that if she had concerns regarding her Indian identity, she should consider migrating to Pakistan. To say that it has created a buzz on the internet would be a sheer understatement.

On 22nd October 2023, The Wire Senior Editor Arfa Khanum Sherwani criticized Indian cricket fans, alleging that they exhibited ‘majoritarianism’ throughout the ongoing 2023 Cricket World Cup. Her tweet was most certainly regarding the “Jai Shri Ram” slogans used by Indian fans after the dismissal of Pakistani player Mohammad Rizwan. She wrote in her tweet as we quote,

“Deplorable behaviour of many cricket fans during World Cup matches, makes me feel embarrassed &ashamed as an Indian. This petty, insecure & majoritarian approach towards sports which was meant to bring people together, is symbolic of India Modi-RSS have created in last one decade”

Many right-wingers took to the comment section and condemned her for her words. Joining this bandwagon was none other than ex-Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria.

Danish Kaneria gave a strong reply to the Tweet made by Arfa Khanum Sherwani

42-year-old Danish Kaneria, the second Hindu to represent the Pakistan cricket team, spoke candidly as he criticized the Senior Editor of the left-leaning publication “The Wire.” He reshared the Tweet made by Arfa Khanum Sherwani on his wall and wrote as we quote,

“Come to my country Pakistan if you are feeling ashamed to be an Indian. India doesn’t need people like you. I am sure many people in India will be happy to sponsor this trip.”
