One can find talent in every nook and cranny of the country. In a country like ours, not everyone is born with a silver spoon. They have to work hard and surmount all odds. Like Rajesh Lukka from Haryana who went from a tea seller to a pro boxer here’s another heroic gem whose success story will inspire you to work harder in life.

A 28-year-old boy, Balbanka Tiwari, hailing from Sundarpur Barja village in Arrah of Bihar has an inspiring story for us

He is a son of a farmer who recently graduated from the IMA (Indian Military Academy). He has transitioned well from being a sepoy to an army officer in the Indian army. He says it’s only his “grit and faith” that could bring him this far.

Looking back at his journey right from the beginning, the young officer says,

“After Class XII, unable to find any prospects in Arrah, I moved to Rourkela in Odisha. I first worked at a factory that cut iron springs and rods. I then joined a namkeen factory. However, I continued my education and took tuitions. I never left my dream of joining the Army all this while.”

Balbanka Tiwari also added how inspiring his relative has-been who was also a jawan in the army.

He added:

“I was fascinated by the kind of respect he received in our village”

While recalling memories Tiwari’s mother, Munni Devi, could barely hold back her tears.

“My son has struggled a lot. He started working by the time he had turned 16 to supplement the family income and toiled for 12 hours in return for just Rs 50 to Rs 100 a day.”

Balbanka worked as a jawan there for the next 5 years. He also simultaneously prepared for the ACC (Army Cadet College) exams which facilitate the transition of soldiers to the rank of officers. Balbanka finally cracked it in 2017.

Tiwari beamed,

“I am so happy I will serve the nation as an officer now.”
