Amitabh Bachchan’s Hilarious Reply After Twitter Removes His Verified Blue Tick Went Viral

Elon Musk’s microblogging site, Twitter previously announced that verified Twitter accounts have to pay a subscription fee to keep their blue ticks. Recently the microblogging site has started removing check mark icons from the accounts that did not pay the subscription fee of Rs 650 per month.

Among the 4 lakh users who lost their Twitter Blue ticks on Friday are notable personalities like Bill Gates, Virat Kohli, Hillary Clinton, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Indian celebrities like Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan and politicians like Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and several chief ministers have also lost their verified blue ticks on their Twitter accounts.

 

Amitabh Bachchan is one of the first celebrities who reacted after Elon Musk’s Twitter removed ‘Blue Ticks’ from the verified accounts of prominent personalities.

Big B took to Twitter to demand his blue tick back claiming that he has already paid for the same

Amitabh Bachchan shared a hilarious tweet asking Twitter and Elon Musk to put back the blue tick. He tweeted in Hindi that read,

The tweet means, “Hey Twitter! Are you listening? Now I have paid the money too… so put back that blue tick, so that people know that it is me – Amitabh Bachchan .. have already folded hands, do I have to join the feet as well??”

Months after Elon Musk announced the date to press users to sign up for Twitter Blue, its paid subscription service, the removal of the blue tick on Twitter came. According to reports, in India, one has to pay Rs 900 a month (or Rs 9,400 a year) to get Blue Verified status.

The list of famous personalities who lost their blue tick status is never ending, it includes Alia Bhatt, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and many more.

Elon Musk has also offered complimentary Twitter Blue subscriptions to some celebrities to retain the blue ticks

Musk said,

“I am paying for a few personally”

He added,

“Just William Shatner, LeBron James and Stephen King”

Now, it seems that anyone can get a verified Blue Tick account just by paying for the same. It doesn’t really matter if you a celebrity or a notable personality.
