Amit Mishra Perfect Reply To Shahid Afridi For Suggesting Virat Kohli To Retire

3 minutes read

From being the game changer to being one of the most disputable former Pakistani cricketers, Shahid Afridi is one of the most controversial cricketers.

He is one of the most outspoken cricketers, and his contentious comments and tweets never fail to draw headlines. However, he had lost a lot of respect in India as a result of this.

Shahid Afridi has often raised the issue of Kashmir which is regarded as one of the most highly controversial issues in both countries. Many times, he has also sparked controversy for his anti-Hindu words. But still, many people from both India and Pakistan love him and admire him for his skills, despite the fact that he never apologized for what he said.

Shahid Afridi suggest Virat Kohli to retire

Shahid Afridi, a former captain of Pakistan, is also frequently in the spotlight for his observations on games, and this time he sparked the debate by advising Virat Kohli to retire. Afridi, who left international cricket on many occasions before quitting for good in 2017, believed Kohli shouldn’t get to the point where he gets dropped.

Talking with Samaa TV, he said,

The way Virat has played, the start that he had to his career, there was struggle initially before he made a name for himself. He is a champion and I believe there comes a stage when you are headed towards retirement. But in that scenario, the aim should be to go out on a high.

He added,

It shouldn’t reach a stage where you are dropped from the team and instead when you are at your peak. It seldom happens though. Very few players, especially cricketers from Asia Cup make that decision, but I feel when Virat does it, he will do it style and probably in the same manner in which he started his career.

Amit Mishra’s reply to Shahid Afridi has gone viral

Even though Kohli hasn’t responded to Afridi’s remark, many of his supporters and admirers of Indian cricket savagely mocked Afridi on social media. Amit Mishra, a former India spinner, is one of them and his answer to him has gone viral online.

In an apparent jab at Afridi, the veteran spinner said,

Dear Afridi, some people retire only once so please spare Virat Kohli from all this

The fact that Afridi has a history of making many retirement announcements before changing his mind inspired Mishra’s tweet. More than 23k have liked and over 2.5k users have retweeted Mishra’s reaction to Afridi’s idea, which has gained a lot of attention on social media.

Recently, Mishra has been highly active on social media, and his tweets frequently receive a lot of attention. In the current season of domestic cricket, he’ll probably be back in action.

Speaking about Kohli, who had been going through a prolonged dry spell but returned to form and flair at the recent Asia Cup 2022.

He scored his first T20 International (T20I) century, ending an almost three-year century drought, after hitting two half-centuries. After Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan, he scored the second-most runs.

The ex-Indian skipper will now take the field for the T20I series against Australia, which will be followed by a match against South Africa. He is expected to lead India to victory in the T20 World Cup in Australia as a vital component of the team.
